Our philosophy
for sustainability
Casa da Carmen Boutique & Private Spa
It is a newly conceived structure, born from the dream and vision of Mirko Matuella, who wanted to create a place capable of combining high-quality hospitality, authentic well-being, and profound respect for the environment.
With over twenty years of experience as technical-sales director at a leading European company in the production of laminated wood and X-LAM, Mirko has developed a solid understanding of sustainable design, applying it to the creation of green residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
Casa da Carmen was born from this very journey: a project conceived and built with awareness, where design, technology, and nature interact in balance.
Building with low environmental impact
The design of the structure, completed in 2017, was guided by one essential principle: people's living comfort, both today and in the future.
Every construction choice was carefully considered to reduce environmental impact, favoring high-quality sustainable materials, specialized labor, and rigorous monitoring of all construction phases, supported by a qualified technical and energy consultant.
The result is a high-performance building, characterized by:
• high thermal insulation
• excellent acoustic comfort
• significant reduction in energy losses and waste
Conscious energy and efficient technologies
We are proud to have integrated advanced technological solutions that allow us to significantly reduce our environmental impact without sacrificing comfort:
• 16 kW photovoltaic system with 30 kW storage system
• Solar thermal system connected to a 500-liter boiler
• High-efficiency condensing boilers
• Energy-efficient spa tubs
• Water-saving faucets and plumbing systems
These choices demonstrate our vision of sustainability: technology at the service of well-being, not the other way around.
Waste reduction and responsible use of resources
At Casa da Carmen, we adopt careful and responsible waste management, aiming to reduce waste at the source.
We favor durable, reusable, and recyclable materials, limit the use of single-use plastic, and encourage recycling throughout the property.
Even in our daily activities—from room management to the spa—we promote the conscious use of water, energy, and products, because sustainability comes from small, everyday actions.
Carefully selected food and products
Our vision of sustainable hospitality also encompasses our choice of products.
We favor local suppliers and businesses that share our values, selecting quality raw materials and products while respecting people, the local area, and the seasons.
For us, sustainability also means transparency, a short supply chain, and attention to what we offer our guests.
Housekeeping is managed directly by our Family Team, a close-knit team that operates according to structured procedures and organizational models inspired by the ISO 9000 Quality Manual.
Each room is carefully prepared and inspected, through reset procedures and checks of all equipment, to ensure:
-
safety
-
comfort
-
reliability
-
certified hygiene
Quality is reflected in every detail:
from the carefully selected furnishings to the 32" SAT+DTT Smart TVs, to the hypoallergenic, anti-mite, CE-certified bed and spa linens, made by a leading Trentino-based hotel company.
Conscious hospitality and authentic luxury
For us, true luxury is time, silence, care, and personalized attention.
We welcome only a few guests, so we can truly pamper them, offering an intimate, relaxing experience that is respectful of the environment and its people.
We invite our guests to experience the property consciously, participating in a stay where personal well-being is intertwined with respect for the place that welcomes them.
An ever-evolving commitment
For Casa da Carmen Boutique & Private Spa, sustainability isn't a destination, but a continuous journey.
We constantly monitor our consumption, update our procedures, and invest in innovative solutions to improve our environmental, social, and energy impact year after year.
We believe that the future of hospitality lies in responsibility, authenticity, and the ability to create memorable experiences while fully respecting the environment around us.
